Support for Bluebirds Player
We would like to send our deepest condolences to the family of former JYH player and current Janesville Bluebirds senior, Chase Rice, who lost his mother Meghan Drays this past week. With a very heavy heart, we are sharing both funeral and GoFundMe information.
Meghan Drays contributed on the JYH marketing committee, as well as tournament and fundraising initiatives over the many years they were involved in the club.
If you are able to support this family during this difficult time, please consider doing so.
Volunteer Hours
Volunteer hours must be half way completed by January 15. Families can buyout their hours at $35 per hour. Please email President Dan Jensen (president@janesvilleyouthhockey.com) to make arrangements for future hours to stay eligible.
To check your volunteer hours status, log into your account at www.janesvilleyouthhockey.com. Once you’re logged in click on “Account” on the top of the page and then “Volunteer” in the left navigation menu.
Hockey Rocks Tournament Volunteers Needed
Each year Janesville hosts the 8U Hockey Rocks Tournament. The tournament is on February 1 and 2 this year. We have 4 divisions in the tournament - Red, White, Blue, and Girls - with 32 teams participating which equals over 320 kids from around the state.
The volunteer hours are open for this tournament and the spots to sign up for include:
- Timekeeper - Set the clock and buzz every 90 seconds
- Scorekeeper - Manually flip scoreboard, need two people during each time block
- 8U Boards - Help move the hockey boards in the center of the ice when the Zamboni does the ice
- Concessions
- Raffle, 50/50, Sucker Pull - Sell tickets for fundraisers
- Tournament Helper - Help with whatever is needed
Calendar Raffles
The calendar raffle sales are underway! The calendars are $20 each. Make sure each ticket stub is filled out completely. The deals on the backside of the calendars are valid the month of February.
When you are ready for more to sell please reach out to Fundraising Chair Katie Kletzien at 608-921-5001. If you have any that you’re unable to sell, please give them back to your Team Manager or Katie.
Anyone selling 30 calendars earns a new hat; the top 3 sellers win gift cards to Pure Hockey!
Hockey Rocks Tournament Sponsors
We’re still accepting sponsors for the Hockey Rocks Tournament until Friday, January 10. Please contact Chris Wilkins at 608-732-2121 or ice@janesvilleyouthhockey.com if you’re interested in sponsoring.
The cost to be a sponsor is $250. This sponsorship gets you the following:
- Your company logo or family name in the tournament program
- Recognition over the PA at the tournament
- Listed on the tournament webpage
With the excitement of the movement into the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center next season, Janesville Youth Hockey is excited for the growth of this tournament and the possibility of additional tournaments in the future. Sponsors make our hockey club and this tournament a success! The sponsorship money will be used to pay for the medals/trophies for the kids, the care packages each player will receive, and for the photographer that will be taking pictures at the tournament.

Save the Dates! - JYH with the Jets
Please mark the following dates in your calendars for JYH activities with the Janesville Jets:
- 8U Night at the Jets - February 21, 2025
- Girls Night at the Jets - April 12, 2025
Kids wearing JYH apparel will get into the games for free.
We will also be hosting Try Hockey for Free on February 22, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to Noon, and the Jets players will be serving as on-ice help.
Girls Hockey Day with the Fury
Join the Fury Varsity team for an unforgettable experience on January 18th!
Youth skaters will have the special honor of welcoming the team back to the ice after warmups, standing alongside them during the starting lineup announcements, and being part of the National Anthem ceremony. It’s your chance to shine on the ice!
What to bring: Skates, helmet, and your club's home jersey
When to arrive: Please be there no later than 2:30 p.m.
Bonus: Youth skaters get FREE admission to the game! Don't miss this opportunity to cheer on the Fury and be part of the action!
