Off Season Skills
JYH is committed to offering hockey players an opportunity to participate in specialized skills training during the off season. We typically offer power skating in the spring and a hybrid skills and power skating in the summer. Participation in these sessions will work to progress your players skills in the off season. These sessions are for more serious players who want to push themselves to get better.

8U: 5:30-6:30pm

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does my player need to know how to skate or play hockey in order to participate in Power Skating?
A: Yes, for 10-14U Power Skating you need to have at least 3 years of hockey experience. For 8U, you need two years of hockey experience. New players to hockey are encouraged to sign up for the Intro to hockey programming.
Q. Do I need equipment to participate in Power Skating?
A. Yes, all players are required to have their own equipment and it must be USA Hockey sanctioned gear. Some 8U players may be eligible to rent JYH gear. Arrangements for gear must be made with Ryan Romeo at equipment@janesvilleyouthhockey.com
Q. Can I pay per session?
A. No, you need to fully register with JYH for Power Skating and have a valid USA Hockey number.

2025 Spring Power Skating
Sessions will start April 3, 2024 and go for 6 weeks. Please sign up for the age group that you will be participating in for the 2025-2026 winter season. We will have three sessions.
